WHAT DOES EYELID SURGERY GIVE?

Eyelid plasty, otherwise known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin along with fatty tissue from the eyelids. The procedure includes correction of a drooping eyelid (in the case of upper eyelids) and removal of bags under the eyes (in the case of lower eyelids). The procedure is performed for aesthetic purposes, as too flabby skin on the eyelids and visible bags under the eyes are signs of fatigue and aging. Eyelid corrections are also performed for health purposes. Eyelids that droop too much can, lead to a reduced field of vision which causes, discomfort in daily functioning.

BEFORE TREATMENT

The surgical eyelid correction procedure is preceded by a medical consultation, during which the doctor discusses the procedure in detail and orders tests to assess the patient's health.

AFTER TREATMENT

Full recovery from the procedure usually takes about two to three months. During this time, the recommendation from the doctor is to avoid physical exertion, as well as exposure of the eyelids to the sun. After two to three weeks, the postoperative swelling disappears. Seven to 10 days after the procedure, the stitches can be removed.

TECHNOLOGY

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the eyelids.

Blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia. The patient can leave the clinic the same day after the procedure. The first step is the precise marking of the sections of skin to be cut. Cuts are made in the natural folds of the upper eyelids and directly under the eyelashes of the lower eyelids. As a result, the scars are located in areas that are not visible with open eyes.
