WHAT DOES THE CO2 LASER GIVE?
Fractional mode:
In addition to its use in so-called laser surgery, the CO2 laser - Galvano also offers us the possibility of working in fractional (aesthetic) mode. After changing the mode and installing an appropriate head called a "fractional scanner", we can perform very sophisticated aesthetic medicine treatments.
The action of the CO2 laser - Galvano consists, among other things, in:
● Skin regeneration - resurfacing. Reduction of fine and deep wrinkles
● Increasing skin tone and density. Skin lifting
● Improvement of elasticity, skin tone, reduction of discoloration.
● Formation of a new epithelial layer
● Reduction of scars, stretch marks, acne scars, hypertrophic scars and more.
The end result is, remodeling and rejuvenation of the skin in the face, neck, décolleté, hands and other areas. The use of CO2 laser, in fact, has no limits.
Laser surgery mode:
Laser surgery allows us to remove various types of skin lesions in a quick and relatively painless manner, leaving virtually no trace. In particular, moles, skin lesions that are in areas that are constantly irritated are eligible for removal. Such places are, for example, the neck and décolletage area, where worn jewelry, especially chains abrade and irritate moles often leading to their bleeding. The hairy scalp where the nevus is irritated by a comb or brush when combing the hair is another area. Worn underwear (bra strap, elastic of panties) can also adversely affect skin lesions in these areas. After consultation with a doctor, it is recommended to remove the lesion with a laser. If the lesion does not qualify for CO2 laser removal, we can always use classic surgical excision with subsequent pathomorphological examination
WHAT IS THE CO2 LASER?
Fractional mode:
CO2 laser - Galvano produces a stream of pulses of microscopic diameter (120 um), spread evenly over the skin with a scanning head. The effect is to rejuvenate the skin, smoothing wrinkles and scars without creating visible wounds with a long period of painful treatment. The CO2 fractional laser "punches holes" into the skin with thousands of microscopic columns, leaving a mesh formed of islands of healthy, undamaged skin around it. As a result, the skin heals faster and recovery time is shorter. It is the width of the ablative columns of 120 micrometers that is crucial and allows for excellent results with fast healing time.
The fractional scanner of the CO2 laser, enabling the execution of a planned number of ablative columns, leads to skin damage. The activated processes of tissue regeneration and healing following the fractional treatment lead to a wide-ranging . Above that, the energy carried by the light wave causes stimulation of fibroblasts to produce new collagen fibers and shrinking of existing ones.
Laser surgery mode:
The Galvano CO2 laser emits a light beam with a wavelength of 10,600 nm. It is this wavelength that is largely "captured" by water molecules. Water being the main component of most of our body's cells allows us to perform treatments using so-called ablative methods. Ablation is the "vaporization" of tissue. It is thanks to the ablative method and the energy carried by the CO2 laser light that we can "vaporize" skin lesions, imperfections, papules, fibromas, etc., with which our patients struggle.
FOR WHOM IS THE CO2 LASER?
For people with problems such as:
● Photo-damage to the skin
● Dilated pores, uneven skin tone, uneven skin texture
● Lack of elasticity, revitalization
● Wrinkles, wrinkles around the eyes and mouth area
● Burn scars, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks.
● Dyschromia of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
● Removal of lesions such as warts and moles.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
For people with problems such as:
● Strong or fresh tan (prohibit tanning a minimum of 4 weeks before treatment, including tanning beds.) Stop using bronzing creams as skin discoloration and burns may occur).
● Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
● Tumors
● Vitiligo, psoriasis and other autoimmune diseases.
● Active herpes.
● Hypersensitivity to light
● Epilepsy (epilepsy).
● Antibiotics - 2 weeks after the last dose
● Retinoids - 6 months after last dose
● Drugs/dietary supplements containing : field horsetail, St. John's wort, chervil, pansy, calendula, sage, nettle, chamomile - 2 weeks from last dose
● Unregulated diabetes.
● Pacemaker, metal implants, insulin pump.
● Prone to hypertrophic scars, keloids
● Taking herbal supplements and antibiotics.
BEFORE TREATMENT
This procedure requires no special preparation other than washing off makeup. The patient receives information on how to prepare for the procedure by phone.
AFTER TREATMENT
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling appear on the skin. There may also be a temporary rash, as with allergies. The skin looks as it does after excessive sunbathing, with all the discomforts characteristic of this condition, which pass after a few hours, the faster the more consistently we apply all the remedies used for sunburn. The patient is informed which remedies to use during consultation with the doctor.
The redness passes after 3-5 days, the swelling intensifies after 1-2 days and disappears after 3-4. Later, the skin turns slightly brown and peels off. After a week, the skin returns to its normal appearance. If injection anesthesia was used, temporary bruising may occur at the injection site.
Very occasionally, at the highest strengths, blisters may heal on certain areas of the skin, forming scabs. After the procedure, you can immediately return to normal activities of daily living, avoiding saunas, sun and hot baths.
